Ecological sanctuary

Noronha is among the most important ecological sanctuaries in the world. The Marine National Park is responsible for keeping the ecosystem conserved and protected. Some beaches are within the park, such as Sancho, a favorite among tourists and elected the most beautiful beach in the world. 

One of those places you need to visit at least once in your life. And you'll want to return many more times.

Before you go

It's always good to remember that the time zone in Fernando de Noronha is 1 hour ahead of Recife time. Keep in mind that flight times are always in local time. 

Upon arriving on the island, you'll find an average temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. Pack in your luggage: light clothing, sneakers, a hat, swimwear, flip-flops, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a jacket, just in case. 

Diving equipment can be rented on the island.

A preserved place

To visit Noronha, you need the Environmental Preservation Fee (TPA), which is charged per day of stay. The other fee, which is not mandatory but recommended, is the entrance ticket to the Fernando de Noronha Marine National Park, valid for 10 days.

Route to Noronha

The Fernando de Noronha archipelago belongs to the state of Pernambuco, and is located 545 km from Recife and 360 km from Natal. Due to the distance, the only way to reach the island is by plane.

A large part of visitors arrive in Noronha by flying with a connection in Recife, on a flight of approximately 1 hour. But there are also direct flights from Natal (São Gonçalo do Amarante), Campinas (Viracopos), and São Paulo (Congonhas).
